This week’s playlist kicks off with a brand new hit from P-Square. They released their visuals for the hit “Bank Alert”. Their distinct beat and dance moves let you know it’s the P-Square trademark. Check it out below:
Sauti Sol return to their old high school, Upper Hill School, in Nairobi to record the new music video for “Kuliko Jana.”
Kenya’s celebrated boy band released the black-and-white a capella video for “Kuliko Jana” less than a day ago and, since then, it’s already racked up over 30,000 views.
The clip, which features Upper Hill School’s Redfourth Chorus, has even moved the likes of Master P and Anthony Hamilton to post the video. Glee actress Amber Riley also lauded the song, “I don’t understand what they are saying but I know it sounds beautiful..”
M.anifest spared little time delivering titillating visuals for single “Cupid’s Crooked Bow” fresh off his fourth studio album Nowhere Cool, which premiered at the Jaguar Showroom.
The fourteen-track memento is influenced by Ghanaian compatriot and distinguished author and playwright Ama Ata Aidoo’s eponymous short story.
“I felt Nowhere Cool will be an appropriate way to tell different stories of life, because sometimes that is how it feels,” M.anifest says.
The cinematically rich Guto Bussab and Alfonzo Franke-directed video—shot in Accra by Cape Town based production house Muti Films— sees the ‘god MC’ with a cowrie shell-bedecked beard, team up with one of his “favorite contemporary voices” on the continent, South African singer-poet-activist Nomsa Mazwai “Nomisupasta.”
Together, they tell the tale of lover’s remorse, basically that bittersweet moment when you realize your significant other would be better as an ex or considering the timing of the video, the inevitable end to your summer fling.
