Majority of African bloggers are into niches such as entertainment, sports and politics leaving the African Lifestyle niche very much underrepresented. However, the continent still boasts of a number of brilliant bloggers who write on lifestyle. These bloggers are spread across the various countries of the continent.

Rayhab Gachango is a writer, poet and chartered marketer. She is the founded Potentash in 2009, as a source of news and information on lifestyle, health, women, beauty, travel, business, technology and entertainment.
Apart from being a passionate writer and chartered marketer, Rayhab also doubles up as a creative consultant in digital contents. She has a degree in advertising from Daystar University and is currently pursuing a Masters in corporate and development communication from the same university.
Before starting Potentash, Rayhab started out as a creative writer doing Facebook notes. Her writing skills were influenced by her grandfather who was a poet and writer. Rayhab’s mum also played a huge part in her writing development as she was encouraged to write for their family magazine, when she was in primary school. She uses Potentash to encourage people to travel, eat great food, take time out for some great entertainment, while also watching cartoon/movies. Her passion for writing has seen a number of her works published in the Fifth Draft, An Anthology of Poetry and Prose as well as on various online publications.
Rayhab’s writings are mostly inspired by her passion for communities as well as issues concerning women, children and the less fortunate. A part of her blog is dedicated to her passion for travel, where she occasionally writes about travel destinations, hotels, restaurants both within and outside Kenya.
Even though she has become very popular within Kenyan online users for her blogging job, Rayhab still has a dream of writing books for children, due to her passion for kids. This has seen her published two children’s stories, with one published in Kenya’s top newspaper, the Daily Nation. Visitors to her blog gets to read trending news, opinions, interviews with top personalities both within and outside Kenya, business tips, various brands, hotel reviews, fashion, entertainment, food and tech. Aside these, Rayhab in collaboration with her team of writers frequently write short stories and poetry, including reviews.
Away from her professional life, Rayhab describes herself as a “curious wanderer” who also possesses huge affinity for water and coast. Every year, she ensures she visits the coastal city of Mombasa.
